Prompt is a guided audio score that explores the different conventions of visual art and live performance spectatorship, and how they differ as platforms for embodied experiences. The work aims to move the audience from passivity to activity through offering prescribed experiences involving a recorded score of instructions, with the hope of evoking private, unique, perhaps rare, and sensational situations for each participant within the gallery setting. The instructions posed are a kind of choreographic invitation. Prompt aims to parse what it means to share an embodied, moving, dancing experience and to invite the audience member into their own personal world.
